VETS, or Veterans’ Employment Training Subsidy, is a non-profit organization that aims to support veterans’ families as he or she trains for a civilian career in a trade skill. Any veteran not in a degree-producing program can apply for a subsidy to cover rent, utilities, medical expenses and more. VETS will help as many families as possible, but preference is given to veterans who are disabled or have a spouse or child with disabilities.
